Nan O’Connor, One of the country’s leading small business coaches.
I think fast. I have to problem-solve on my feet. Small businesses need to resolve issues quickly - often in a one-hour phone call. When they hang up the phone they have to hit the ground running. Because so many businesses are in mature industries today, simpler next-step solutions just won’t work. How do you tell a small business owner that? Well, since I am committed to helping businesses in all stages, I decided to work with EdgeDweller to see if I could learn game-change problem solving.
In one training session with EdgeDweller, I quickly grasped the concept of genius-thinking patterns - which ones to use and when. In my first progress test I had moved from 1 to 6 disruptive (game-change) ideas in five-minute exercises. So am I a believer? You bet. I was really amazed at the difference in my thinking after such a short time of instruction. And because the process is logical - it made sense to me, so I was able to retain what I learned. I could apply it immediately to everyday problems – not months or weeks later. Issues that seemed like roadblocks before have many possible solutions. And I can get to them quickly.
Now I know that I have what I need to get these small businesses through tougher times. And that keeps me on the edge for them.
